Comments & Suggestions on No. 334

Whenever I read The KNU Times, I never get disappointed as this magazine is always full of useful and interesting information. Even if there were a few mistakes in the last issue, it was easy to read thanks to adequate pictures in the right places. At this point, I’d like to offer some of my comments and suggestions on the last issue.

First of all, I was impressed with the article about Dr. Kim"s story, which was very touching. I was pleased that such a great person had graduated from KNU. Reading this article, I was proud of being a KNU student and thought about what qualities are needed to become a sincere doctor. However, it would have been better if his experiences in Nepal would have been dealt with in more detail.

Secondly, the pictures used in the Korean Express section caught my eyes because they were so cute. However, I was very confused about the pictures and the explanations to solve the math problems. It would have been much easier to show us a clear-cut mathematic formula instead of sentences.

The information provided in the Hot Spot section was very beneficial. I knew the city of Jinju but I didn"t know what it was famous for. Through this two pages, I came to know that Jinju is historically meaningful and has lots of beautiful places. However, I felt something lacking as the article was too focused on a Korean battle story. Besides that story there should have been something different and interesting about Jinju.

In the Cover Story about the increasing tuition fees, I actually didn"t know what was going on since I was a freshman last year. However, I could understand the issue thoroughly and also the opinions of the people from other situations.

The most interesting story was the Culture part which presented the 50th anniversary of Barbie. I didn"t know that Barbie played an important role in improving women"s life. Thanks to the article, my prejudice toward Barbie disappeared. However, I felt sorry that there were not enough pictures. I think there should have been more pictures associated with Barbie"s birthday party.

I felt excited while reading the Gourmet in Daegu part as I have been to Seonhyang before. However, the article would have been more interesting if it had dealt with many kinds of teas.
There were lots of easy and interesting articles in the last issue. However, I think there is still room for improvement. It can be a trivial point, but the pictures next to the writers" name in many sections such as Book Cafe, Cinema Focus and +You were somewhat awkward. Looking at such pictures makes readers uncomfortable.

It has been two years since I read The KNU Times. I think the quality of the magazine is getting better and better. I thank the reporters and the editors for their hard work and effort. I look forward to reading a better magazine in next issues.
