According to Statistics Korea, the youth employment rate is increasing continually and reached 10.2% in June. Many enrolled and graduated students find employment information from the Internet and office workers, but sometimes they get incorrect information and advertisements. Luckily there is a resource – the KNU Career Development Center - that gives various accurate employment information to students. The KNU Career Development Center also offers employment connection program like job fairs, recruitment fairs, and campus recruiting. Which programs and services can be useful to you?
There are two processes that students have to pass (the document screening process and the interview) in order to enter a desired company. However, it is hard to hold the attention of interviewers who have to deal with lots of applicants. The Employment Guide section therefore offers diverse tips for students: how to write a unique resume and a letter of self-introduction; unusual interviewing method; and analysis of each company. Furthermore, vivid experience from people who have obtained a position and columns of personal managers are offered. If you yet decided what to do in the future, information about more than 100 jobs can be found. This section will provide students with useful information from career set-up to actual exam.
Work Experience Education Course
Nowadays, companies prefer students who have worked in the field. Experiencing work before joining a company is a great chance to learn about the world of work and students also receive practice pay and obtain credits. The KNU Career Development Center connects interested companies and students. Students can work in the company after the interview. Work experience overseas is possible only during vacation time. The course is provided four times a year during the semester and on vacation. About 90 students were selected to experience work previously last semester. If you decide on your future career, you can experience the work world in advance and then find knowledge which you need autonomously after your experience.
KNU Eduspa is a lecture system on the public official process, provided on the Internet. Lectures for each subjects are uploaded, so if students apply and get approval, they can study for free. They can apply for the lecture before the semester starts as the announcement is uploaded and it is accepts in order of application. After the application, students should participate in briefing session. If they do not attend, they will be exclude from the applicants. Taking the lectures with the learning process chart can help students study systemically. In addition, students can purchase textbooks for the lectures at cheap prices. It is important to remember the learning process evaluation, in order to avoid being disadvantages.
Student Counsel Center
The KNU Career Development Center offers counselling services for students’ general well-being, psychological health, and other matters. Three services are offered; psychological testing, personal counselling, and group counselling. There are various types of tests like the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), and the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) test. Through the MBTI test, students can learn about their natural propensity, and this will be helpful in finding a job which is suitable to them. Personal counselling is conducted for 50 seconds and is confidential. Group counselling is a program which helps students to develop mentally and improve their social relations. Reservations for the test and counsel can be made by telephone or through the Internet.
By providing various educational and employment support, the KNU Career Development Center is trying to help students improve their abilities and opportunities. You do not need to worry about money for using the programs and services, because offering information about employment is a mandatory role of the university. Find programs which are suitable and needful to you and make the best use of them!
