367. For the Improvement of Your Life: 3 Important Facts I Have Learned

Most KNU students are living busy lives due to studying, doing their work or trying to achieve their goals. A hard-working life is admirable, but sometimes it makes you exhausted. That’s why I would like to give you some tips in making your life more enjoyable and in achieving your goals without draining yourself. These are not special tips and you might already know them, but I hope that reading this article and using these 3 tips to improve your life’s standard, and to enhance your mental and physical health, will help you anyway.

 

First, you need to be in good health to do your best in your workplace. You need to be in good physical condition for your mental health, to work efficiently, and to think more positively. I did not know the importance of this until the winter of 2013 when I could not stop coughing for four months just because of a cold. At that time, I was weak, depressed and unable to pursue my goals in the way that I wanted to. There are various tips to help you achieve a healthier body, but there is a major tip which most of the doctors agree on: work out. By working out, I was able to get a stronger immune system and have more strength overall. All you need to do is to work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes, and you will become healthier and feel better. 

When people have big dreams or are working on a personally important project, sometimes they put too much emphasis on it, get stressed out, and even blame themselves when things do not go well. However, at the end of the day, the most important thing in your life is being happy, so try not to strain yourself emotionally. If you cannot uphold your emotional burden, try meditation for 5 minutes before you go to bed.

           Leisure is essential in living a happier life. Studying is great, but you need to get some rest, meet friends, and resolve your stress. Drinking could help you to relieve your stress temporarily though not in the long run. Research studies point out that engaging in leisure activities helps individuals to improve the overall quality of their lives, so let’s enjoy leisure actively. You could sing, swim, or take a long walk on a sunny day. As for me, singing and taking a walk helped me a lot during the hard times.  

 

Imagine achieving your goal as marathon. If you run too fast at the beginning, you will end up exhausted. In your hectic life, try to coordinate regular exercise, calmness of mind, and a bit of leisure with your work. Then you will be able to see that you have enough time to pursue what you want. When life challenges you, try to remember the tips above. I wish you the best in achieving your goals while taking care of your health and being happy.
